UK Experts in Key Management Systems
The KeyTidy T1 is a tamper-evident physical key management system that gives every key and asset a fixed, numbered home. Authorised users check items out with their personal identity peg — which stays locked in place until the key or equipment is returned.
The Product
Physical control, visual accountability, zero software required.

See It In Action
It really is that simple. The numbered retaining peg keeps the keys locked in place until an authorised user inserts their own colour-coded identity peg and turns to release them. Their peg stays locked in until the keys are returned — so you always know exactly who has what, and why.
Simple by Design
Never spend any more time looking for keys or equipment.
The colour denotes their reason for access (green = cleaner, blue = technician, etc.) and initials or an identity number can be engraved on the end (e.g. JLR or 411) if required.
Each key or item of equipment is sealed to a light blue or solid steel numbered 'retaining' peg, held in the matching numbered KeyTidy block — always stored in exactly its correct place.
The authorised user inserts their own identity peg and turns to release the keys or item — but their peg stays locked in place until the keys or item are returned.
Keys and items are ALWAYS in their correct position, or it is instantly clear precisely who has them (by the initials on the peg in place) and why (by the colour of that peg).
Need added security? KeyTidy cabinets are also available with code or card access — providing a fully controlled environment for high-security environments.

Real-World Applications
KeyTidy is trusted across industries to keep equipment organised, secure, and always accounted for.

Amazon warehouses attach KeyTidy to pallet trucks, saving an average of 8 minutes per user per shift. Pallet truck number 20 is always in position 20 awaiting an authorised user, and always returned to its correct position after use — not left as a health & safety issue in another part of the warehouse. As a result, only the correct number of pallet trucks are purchased because "spare" trucks are not required for those that go "missing".

Hilti power tools are stored and available for fast access as required, but always returned as soon as finished with — maximising availability and use of all equipment and preventing the purchase of unnecessary extra equipment.

KeyTidy works across a wide range of equipment — ensuring items are always returned to their correct position after use. Examples include: test units, inspection cameras, multimeters, torque wrenches, calibration tools, PPE, handheld radios, and any shared equipment that needs to be tracked and accounted for.

From cabinet keys and meter cupboard keys to padlocks, plant rooms, and communal facilities — any key that needs to be accessible to authorised staff but always returned can be stored on a KeyTidy. Each key has a fixed, numbered position and is instantly traceable to the last person who used it.

Ladders are always stored in their correct position because they are sealed to the matching numbered KeyTidy. This eliminates "extra" ladders being purchased, as they are always returned as soon as a task is completed. Ladders are no longer left in remote areas or causing health and safety issues.
Why KeyTidy
A broken seal tells you immediately — no guesswork, no log-ins required. Physical security that speaks for itself.
Every seal carries a unique number. Record it, break it, replace it. An unambiguous chain of custody every time.
Colour-coded access pegs and dedicated slots make missing keys visible at a glance — before it becomes a problem.
Zero infrastructure, zero ongoing cost. Passive physical security that works the moment it's on the wall.
The Basics
A shadow board is something you can create with KeyTidy T1s to keep tools, keys and other assets organised and accountable. Every item has its own marked, labelled position on a visual control board, so you can see in an instant whether it's in place or missing. It's a simple, proven way to keep equipment ready to use, with no software to log into and nothing to charge.
Multiple T1 units mounted together to organise power tools by position. Each slot is labelled and secured, so you can see at a glance which tools are in use and which are missing, no app, no login, no waiting.
Cordless tools and batteries mounted on a dedicated shadow board. The visual layout makes accountability instant: every position tells you what belongs there and whether it's present.

Scale Up
A single KeyTidy T1 controls one item. Mount several units together and you can create your own shadow board, a visual control station for a whole facility. The examples above show what's possible; KeyTidy supplies the T1 units, and the layout is yours.
Most shadow boards rely on printed outlines or foam cut-outs. They look tidy, but they can't tell you whether an item has actually been taken or tampered with. By building your own board around the KeyTidy T1, you give every position a tamper-evident seal, so you don't just see what's missing, you know the moment a seal has been broken.
There's no software, no wiring and no IT project. You design the layout, mount a T1 at each spot, and the board is yours, smarter than any printed outline could ever be.
Write down every item you want accountable: power tools, hand tools, keys, radios, tablets, vehicles. Anything that goes missing or gets borrowed.
Decide where each item lives on the board. A dedicated, labelled spot for every asset is what makes the system work at a glance.
Each T1 holds one item with a tamper-evident seal. Mount one unit per position, as many as you need, in any arrangement.
Fit the numbered seals and label each position. From now on, a broken or empty position instantly shows what's missing or been accessed.
The Payoff
A whole wall of positions makes the status of every asset instantly visible, no logging in, no app, no waiting.
Start with one T1 and add more units to the board at any time. No rewiring, no software, no IT project.
Knives, tools, keys, vehicles: arrange labelled positions to match exactly how your team works.
An empty position is impossible to miss, so you know the moment something isn't where it should be.
